Painting Satie

With long years of experience behind us, Mary & Me is a partnership formed in friendship and the joy of music, which we love to share with our audiences. For this concert we welcome artist Kerry Holland in a novel collaboration.

Eric Satie is renowned for his idiosyncratic music – especially his meditative, spare piano pieces. So how about something equally odd - ‘painting’ his cryptically named Trois Morceaux en forme de Poire (Three pieces in the shape of a Pear). For this unique venture Brisbane artist Kerry Holland sets up her easels in our performance space and paints the shapes and colours that are inspired by what she hears, watched by you!

Included pieces by Robert Schumann, Franz Schubert and Elena Kats-Chernin.
