Mosman Symphony Orchestra Concert - Journeys
Mosman Symphony Orchestra will continue the 2025 season with our second concert weekend of the year with a performance entitled "Journeys". Please take note that this concert will have a new time slot - Saturday 14th June (4:00pm) and the usual Sunday 15th June (2:30pm) at Mosman Art Gallery.
Renowned baritone Tristan Entwistle, who performed Mahler with us last year, is returning to sing the beautiful Songs of Travel by Vaughan Williams. This heartfelt song cycle follows a wandering soul through nature, memory, and solitude. With rich lyricism and English folk influences, it captures both introspection and quiet strength.
Tristan's performance will be bookended by perennial favourites Pavane pour une infante défunte by Ravel – the slow courtly dance for a long-lost princess, and Sibelius's Symphony No. 5 in E-flat. Inspired by the sight of swans in flight, Sibelius’s Fifth is a majestic journey from mystery to triumph. Its soaring themes and sweeping finale are a powerful expression of nature and transformation.
