Walk for Women - Walking against family and domestic violence
A walk to raise public awareness and promote advocacy to prevent violence against women in communities across Australia, will be staged in Mosman on Friday 29 November.
Led by Mosman Mayor Ann Marie Kimber, the walk will begin at Rawson Oval on Friday 29 November at 10am and conclude at the Headland Park Artist Precinct in Georges Heights. The end of the walk will feature addresses by Elisabeth Shaw, Chief Executive Officer, Relationships Australia NSW, a leading provider of support services to build and maintain safe and respectful relationships; Yvette Vignando, Chief Executive Officer, Mary's House Services, a not-for-profit, community-funded domestic and family violence support service based in North Sydney; and Larissa Ryan, Sergeant and Paul Devaney, Detective Superintendent and Commander, North Shore Police Area Command.

Participants are encouraged to wear purple. Refreshments will be served upon completion of the walk.
