Quarantine Unmasked: surviving the 1918-19 influenza pandemic at North Head

Thousands of returning soldiers were detained and some died at North Head Quarantine Station in 1918-19 during the worldwide ‘Spanish flu’ pandemic.

Drawing on the carvings and gravesites at North Head, this presentation by Dr Peter Hobbins shares stories of life in quarantine while influenza killed millions around the world.
