MONDAY MATTERS - Cindy Davies - "The Afghan Wife"

Cindy’s first novel, “The Afghan Wife”, is both a love story and a thriller. It’s set against the background of the Revolution in Iran in 1979.

The novel reflects Cindy’s abiding interest in the Middle East. She lived in Turkey for two years, speaks Turkish, and has been a regular visitor to the region ever since. A graduate of the University of Sydney, she’s been an English language teacher, freelance travel writer, and tour guide in both Turkey and Sydney.

Cindy will talk about her book as well as the some of the history of Iran. She will also explore the process of writing about Iranian culture for a European audience.
